Brooking Gatewood 

Before joining Adaptive Edge, Brooking worked as manager of both the communications and partner network programs at Global Footprint Network, an international non-profit that works to create a sustainable economy by advancing the Ecological Footprint. Brooking has also worked on the Natural Capital Institute’s Wiser Earth project and contributed to sustainable event planning and green home design as a research and media intern at Sustainable Ireland in Dublin.

She is a co-founder of the Big Green Bus, an alternative fuels and lifestyles educational road-trip project, now in its 5th year of touring, and is a competitive ultimate frisbee player. She is also interested in group process work and has basic training in non-violent communication, Conversation Café, deep-listening and women’s work methodologies.

Brooking holds a B.A. in environmental studies with a minor in anthropology from Dartmouth College, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in organization and management at the Merage School of Business at UC-Irvine, and is working on projects (with  Professor Christine Beckman) on networked organizations, organizational collaboration, charter schools, and organizations' role in social change.
