Context

Adaptive Edge periodically hosts open public dialogues to engage interested and interesting people in the communities we work in. For this session, we were interested in learning from local change-makers in Santa Cruz, CA.

Objectives & Methods

The World Café is a highly effective dialogue method for eliciting the collective wisdom of diverse groups. Held in a teahouse in Santa Cruz, this particular dialogue lasted three hours and explored the following questions:

1. Why is this important? How does “inner work” translate into world-changing action?

2. What enables this to happen— i.e. the nexus between inner work and changing the world?

3. What are the barriers? What gets in the way of inner work translating into world-changing work?
